MATERIAL PARTICLE AND MATERIAL POINT TO HERTZ

ABSTRACT: There was once a Natural Philosophy that distinguished between what we see and the structure we can confer to what we see. That was the Natural Philosophy of Hertz, of which we cannot hear too often these days. Hertz distinguished between material particle, which is a mean of indicating a point in space, and material point, which is the physical model of what we perceive. Classical Mechanics, as well as the whole Physics today, identifies them. This is the story of what we can get if we follow Hertz’s philosophy.
